Editing Marks

In writing we are learning that writers revise and edit their work to make it "even better."  These are the editing marks we will use in our writing.  You will see these marks on our Tuesday night homework as well as on any writing we do in the classroom.  Ask your child what these marks mean!

Leprechaun Encounters

Listen to our amazing leprechaun narratives! Ask your child how red flag words, word referents, dialogue, and show don't tells can hook readers in and keep their attention.

Wolf Elaborative Writing

During writing we are working on elaborating.  Elaborating is when we stop the action of the story, zoom in on one moment and use our 5 senses to describe what is happening making the reader feel like they are "right there."   Listen to the wolf writing from your classmates.  How did each person elaborate?  What vivid verbs and adjectives did your friends use in their writing?  Check out our amazing writing by clicking the link below.
