Mitten Suspense Writing

In writing we are learning that writer's build suspense to keep the reader hooked!  Word referents, red flag words and phrases, hints (The Magic of three), reactions/show don't tells, thoughts and questions are all tricks writers use to to build suspense when writing.  We also learned that we can read in a suspenseful voice to keep the audience interested!   The kids worked with a partner to record their suspense writing using an app called Explain Everything using our new iPads! 

 Yes, I said NEW iPads! Mrs. Jordan and I wrote an iPad grant for the second grade.  We were awarded 10 iPads!!  Special thanks to the HFEE, Friends of Hanover, and Otterbox for funding this grant!
